How to install and uninstall .deb file on ubuntu

I have tried this about at least 1 week ago.

We'll use Terminal to apply this manner.

For installing .deb file, you should open terminal and type this code:
sudo dpkg -i "directory_package.deb"
example: sudo dpkg -i /home/user/Download/blog.deb

Then, if password is required, you should type it.

  • Remove or Uninstall .deb file
Open Terminal and type this code:
sudo dpkg -r "directory_package.deb"
example: sudo dpkg -r /home/user/Download/blog.deb

Password always required if you are not in MASTER USER mode.
Master User: sudo su       ----->      Enter     ----->       Password

How to connect modem CDMA Venus VT-18 EVDO on Ubuntu

Hi! Long time we aren't see! Because I unwanted to write a post here. But today, I wanna share my experience on Ubuntu.
Maybe last week, I download Ubuntu and install it in my computer. I think, it's very difficult to use cause I am familiar with Windows.

But actually, Ubuntu is so easy to use..

Well, today I want to share my experience about how to connect modem CDMA VENUS VT-18 EVDO in Ubuntu.

Follow the guidelines yeah!

1. You should plug the modem to your computer/laptop when it's turned off.
2. You should turn on your computer.
3. You should select the user then enter the password key.
4. Please click Connection -> Edit Connection (At the top of your screen).
5. Click Mobile Broadband -> Add.
6. Ignore the under of Create a connection for this mobile broadband device as Any Device -> Continue.
7. Select your country. I live in Indonesia, so I choose Indonesia.
8.  Select your provider, if your provider don't appear, you can type under the provider's scroll-box -> Continue -> Apply.
9. Check connect automatically, enter your username and password that given by your provider. And then click save.
10. Press Ctrl + Atl + T to open terminal.
11. Type sudo su [enter] and then type your password (the password you're type is blocked and you can't see it) then enter.
12. Type lsusb -> Look the code serial! And your modem still detected as a drive, not a modem.
13. Type dmesg | tail.
14. Type eject /dev/sr1.
15. Type lsusb to check your modem's serial.
I give you the example of the modem's code:
Bus 004 Device 003: ID 1d09:aef4 TechFaith Wireless Technology Limited
16. Then, you should type sudo modprobe usbserial vendor=0x1d09 product=0xaef4. Information: vendor is the first code after ID | product is the second code after ID.
17. Close terminal -> Connection -> Telkom Flexy Connection 1. Telkom Flexy is my provider, so appear that. If your provider is A, then will appear A Connection 1.
17.1. If you change the provider name that saved on Ubuntu, then appear as your word :)

See you!
