Well, Just press Alt+F2 and type this:
gnome-screenshot --areaThen, you click the icon that appears and then, you can snip anywhere else.
And you can cancel the snipping cursor by press the right-click on the mouse.

Ubuntu 11.10 -> Snipping Tool
Today, I will share new knowledge for all of Ubuntu 11.10 users. Actually, Ubuntu 11.10 is not longer supported. But I still use it because I can't to install the higher version of Ubuntu 
.
Well, Just press Alt+F2 and type this:
