Set the Screen Brightness on Ubuntu and Linux Mint

Ubuntu and Linux Mint Logos
Today, I'd like to share new knowledge to you. That is How to set the screen brightness on Ubuntu and Linux Mint.

I ever feel unpleasant if the screen brightness is so light! Because it can hurt our eyes.

And today I have knowledge to do it! Follow and leave comment if you've succeed. :)

I get this information from Google and I've practice it, almost done!

  • Open the terminal! You can press Ctrl + Alt + T!
  • Copy this code to your terminal:
    • sudo sed "s/\(GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=\)\"\"/\1\"acpi_osi=Linux acpi_backlight=vendor\"/" /etc/default/grub -i
  • Enter the Root Password!
  • Then, do update on grub, to succeed the command above!
    • sudo update-grub
  • Well done! Now, restart your PC! And after you log in, the brightness level setting now can be done by shortcut.
Thank you for visiting my blog!
